The Glassboro Police Department patrol division is comprised of five “platoons”, each with a Sergeant, Corporal and four patrolmen. Additional part-time “Class II” officers supplement manpower as needed and assist with court duties and prisoner monitoring along with patrolling. Patrols are conducted utilizing vehicle, foot and bike patrols.
Officers on each platoon are responsible for responding to calls for service and other emergencies, patrolling neighborhoods and business districts, serving warrants and enforcing traffic, criminal and Borough laws. Many of these functions are achieved by building strong relationships with citizens, business owners and visitors within the Borough.
Additionally, patrol officers are often seen giving community talks and presentations as they relate to various specializations. This could be a member of the K9 unit, Crime Prevention or the Bike Unit. For more information on these specialized units, please click here.
